Daily Meditation – Decide What Thoughts Are True

Relax. Welcome back to the present moment. In this moment you will find your power. In this moment you are free.

You can let this day be easy. You can let this day be fun.

You can choose to feel better with a simple smile, just by focusing on your breath, just by slowing down and stepping outside of your mind.

Breathe out and watch your thoughts instead of being your thoughts

Your thoughts will try to tell you all sorts of false things, bad things about yourself, things that you should be doing, dumb ideas. You’ll hear all sorts of thoughts in your head that stress you out, that give you anxiety—but you have the power to step outside of those thoughts, to rise above those thoughts and to see they’re not real and they’re not true. You get to decide what thoughts are true.

Breathe out and trust the process of life.

You can surrender now. This doesn’t have to be a struggle. You don’t have to try. You can relax. Surrender to this present moment.

Say you just woke up and you have a lot of things you want to do today. You want to go on a bike ride and you want to clean the carpet and you want to post your video and you want to do all these things. But there’s not exactly enough time and you have to get all these other people to come with you—there’s a lot of moving parts. What if you just surrendered and didn’t care if you went and did all those things you want to do? What if you just made peace with the way things are?

Breathe in and be at peace with what is
Breathe out and surrender. Give up.

Decide you’ll be happy either way, whether you go do all those things like clean your carpet—or not! Decide you don’t give a fuck if you clean your carpet. You don’t give a fuck if you go to the post office. Decide to surrender, to not care if you achieve because achieving doesn’t make you a better person. It might relieve some stress but then you’ll just have more things to do tomorrow. How about we surrender right now?

Breathe in and lighten up!
Breathe out and surrender. It doesn’t matter if you do those things or not. It doesn’t make you a better person or not. You are whole, creative and resourceful in this moment right here.

Make peace with things not being exactly the way you want them to be. Surrender right now. Decide it doesn’t matter. Decide you’ll be happy either way whether you get the things done you want or not, whether you feel accomplished or not, decide you will feel good either way, whether you do the things or not. That is surrender.

Even if you make mistakes, even if you can’t totally make peace with this moment—try. Surrender. Give up.

What does it feel like to let go of your responsibilities? What does it feel like to let go of feeling like you have to do all these things? What does it feel like to surrender to this moment? To just be here now—happy no matter what?

Your worth does not depend on what you do. In this moment, you are complete. In this moment, you are at peace.
