Good MORNING! I am so grateful to be awake and alive on my sister's birthday! Today my sister Kerri is 27 years old! We are nearly Irish twins, being less than 15 months apart in age. I am so grateful for all the memories we have together. I am so grateful we get along so well! I am so grateful I've visited Kerri in Europe TWICE now! I am so grateful that Kerri and I have such different personalities. I am so grateful we shared a bedroom for so many years (until I was lucky enough to be a teenager and Kerri had to move in with Joy)! I am so grateful Kerri is staying in Austin! I am so grateful I just found the motherlode of photos of my family from when I was little!
I am so grateful for all my siblings. I am so grateful to be the oldest. I am so grateful for everything I learned from them.
I am so grateful for the new ideas Kerri gives me. I am so grateful she has lived in Europe for so long. I am so grateful she has shown me the best of Berlin. I am so grateful we traveled to Paris, Amsterdam and Krakow together. I am so grateful we got to live in Champaign together. I am so grateful for the times when she rescued my inebriated, sloppy, crying self. I am so grateful for that one time she picked me up from "2 Coke Can's" house and stayed at my apartment with me while I helplessly locked myself in the bathroom and fell over repeatedly.
I am so grateful that we got to spend so much time driving to high school together. I can barely even remember what it was like, aside from me wearing black platforms, driving a black pickup truck, listening to angry music, slapping Kerri's hand away as she tried to adjust the volume, racing to piano lessons together, for which I had not practiced since the last lesson. I am grateful for all the time we spent reading together. I am grateful for all the time we spent in the back yard of our house in Long Grove, playing in the tree we called "Peekaboo Peak".
I'm so grateful Kerri and I have gone camping together so many times. I'm so grateful for the memories from this one trip where I convinced Kerri to rip apart her favorite pillow in order to "make wool". I'm so grateful we always have so much fun together. I'm so grateful we're best friends. I'm so grateful we have such a strong bond. I'm so grateful we know each other so well. I'm so grateful for my gorgeous sister!
Today I intend to have fun with Kerri on her birthday! We're going to go to the gym together then Kel and I are going to cook lunch for her. Today I intend to enjoy all the chores and cooking and errands we want to run. Today I intend to bask in the presence of my family! Today I intend to savor the 27th anniversary of my sister's birth! Today I intend to focus on all the myriad positive aspects of Kerri! Today I intend to be generous with my time! Today I intend to direct my thoughts about my family towards positive memories and pleasing intentions! Today I intend to have genuine conversations! Today I intend to help make Kerri's life a little easier. Today I intend to appreciate my awesome sister!
Wouldn't it be nice if Kerri's blog, the BS Beast, got totally popular? Wouldn't it be nice to record Kerri's album for her? Wouldn't it be nice to go to the Drafthouse later this week together and see Black Swan? Wouldn't it be nice to travel through Europe together again? Wouldn't it be nice to go to dubstep night together? Wouldn't it be nice to go to Amsterdam together again? Wouldn't it be nice if Kerri moved to Austin? Wouldn't it be nice to meet her new beau? Wouldn't it be nice to work on a project together? Wouldn't it be nice to have fun together?
I love Kerri! I love that she reads constantly! I love that she's getting her masters in Berlin (in American studies no less!)! I love that Kerri is so smart and scored higher on the ACT than me! I love that I have so many millions of memories about her! I love remembering silly things like her barfing above me in the bunk beds we shared. Or when she had to get this big birthmark removed and before the surgery she tried to scrub it off in the tub. Or when she was learning to ride a bike and fell off and wouldn't get back on for a long time! Or when she wrote a story about our family for Christmas. Kerri is so awesome, she's already written a NOVEL! Check out her comic blog, the BS Beast, and for more info about her visit her personal site. Oh, I forgot to mention, she is an incredible musician and writes songs, plays guitar and piano, tap dances, and does experimental percussion. Here is her music Youtube channel! The song "Michael" is about our brother joining the army, and is one of my favorites. Oh! And comedy! She is so talented and so brave and she does everything for herself. She isn't afraid to learn new public transportation systems or travel alone. She has been to so many different countries and has friends to stay with in all of them. She speaks Spanish, German and French!
Happy Birthday Kerri, may you have 270 more!
On another note, not about Kerri, I am so grateful the laundry is done. I am so grateful the dishes are done. I am so grateful we have a big food order to fulfill today. I am so grateful for all the nice comments people leave me. I am so grateful for the awesome conversations I get to have with people online who live far away. I am so grateful for Pwny and Linty's cute new cat good bowls. I am so grateful I choose to write these posts before my coffee, so I do the work of getting in a good mood myself and don't rely on the coffee to make me a tolerable person.
Today I intend to focus on enjoying the moment. Today I intend to feel the flow. Today I intend to do what comes naturally. Today I intend to focus on love. Today I intend to allow inspiration. Today I intend to feel joy! Joy feels like blooming flowers and balloons, glitter exploding in the air, uncontrollable laughter, colorful everything, music to my ears, shooting from the bottom of the pool to the surface, crashing in ocean waves, throwing clothes at the ceiling fan, making a huge mess and knowing I'll get in trouble but it's WORTH IT, writing the best writing of my life, designing the perfect image, running a marathon, winning contests and prizes, talking to mentors and heros on Twitter, receiving the perfect gift, giving and receiving unconditional love.
Wouldn't it be nice to be inspired to write my next article? Wouldn't it be nice to be inspired to work on the book? Wouldn't it be nice if Kerri had her best birthday yet? Wouldn't it be nice to play music with Kerri? Wouldn't it be nice to get everything done today that I wanted, but for it to be effortless and natural and flowing? Wouldn't it be nice to travel with my siblings? Wouldn't it be nice to have fun all day?
I love working on these posts. I love focusing on positive aspects of people I love. I love getting up at 6am on Monday morning. I love getting up before the sun rises. I love when Linty sits in my lap and warms me. I love that it isn't snowing in Austin. I love that I get to hang out with Kerri. I love that Michael is coming home soon! I love that I get to see Joy today too. I love that Kerri is coming to the Y with us. I love being responsible and going to bed early. I love taking care of my vibration. I love focusing on what I want. I love focus! I love life!

I am what you are. Celebrate and find more reasons to celebrate. Love and find more ways to love. Every day is a birthday in that you constantly get a chance to begin anew, now, and now, and now, and now. Your consciousness is reborn with each thought and idea. Every moment is a reminder that you chose to come to physical reality to expand the universe, love with all your being, and create what has not yet been created. Live each now moment like it's your birthday and always give what you want to receive. Focus on what you want and it has no choice but to come!
